Warriors 4 Bruins 2

Jason Bast scored a pair of goals to lead the Moose Jaw Warriors to a 4-2 win over the visiting Chilliwack Tuesday night.

Special teams were the key in this game as Moose Jaw scored twice on the power play, once shorthanded and both Bruins goals were scored with the man advantage.

Joel Broda and Riley Holzapfel also scored for the Warriors who improved their record to 32-18-6-6.

Nick Holden and Oscar Moller replied for the Bruins (26-29-4-4), who finished 2-for-10 on the power-play.

Moose Jaw's Joey Perricone made 29 saves, while Mark Friesen turned aside 24 shots for the Bruins.

 

The Bruins next game is Wednesday February 27th in Brandon. Game time is 5pm pacific.

Ice Chips: Mark Santorelli was held off the scoresheet but still ranks 2nd in league scoring with 90 points, two points behind Kelowna's Colin Long...Nick Holden now has 19 goals to lead all WHL defencemen...Chilliwack has allowed shorthanded goals in two straight games and have now allowed 7 on the season...Oscar Moller now has 14 power play goals this season, third best in the league. Moller had 16 power play goals last season...16 year old defenceman Tyler Stahl made his WHL debut with the Bruins in tonight's game...not in the lineup for Chilliwack were Matt Meropoulis (hand injury), Mike Proudley, and Brayden Metz.
