Bruins Update – Playoff Edition

April 22nd 2008

Oscar Moller recorded his first AHL point Monday night in a 3-2 ovetime loss to Providence

Chilliwack Bruins players Mark Santorelli, Oscar Moller and Nick Holden continue their seasons with their American Hockey League teams.

Oscar Moller, who joined the Manchester Monarchs, posted an assist on the opening goal of the game, but it was not enough as the Monarchs fell to the Providence Bruins by the score of 3-2 and have been swept by the Bruins in four straight games.  Moller finishes his tour of duty with the Monarchs with one assist and a +1 rating in two playoff games.

Mark Santorelli, who has joined the Milwaukee Admirals, has played one regular season game and two playoff games for the Admirals and is still looking to post his first AHL point.  Santorelli is part of the Nashville Predators system.  With the recent ousting of the Preds in the NHL playoffs, the Admirals have been strengthened by some NHL players. Santorelli has been a healthy scratch as he learns the ropes in the AHL.  The Admirals currently trail their best of seven series 2-1 against the always tough Chicago Wolves, with two of these three games going to overtime.

Nick Holden is in a similar situation.  Holden, who has signed a pro contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets, has been assigned to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.  The Crunch have been able to get Holden in for one regular season game so far, as they are now locked in a series with the Manitoba Moose, the Vancouver Canucks farm club.  Holden arrived during the Crunch’s 15 game winning streak, so he has had a tough time cracking the line up, but gets to learn from a team on a great run right now.  The Crunch have just seen their 15 game streak come to an end and are currently locked in a 1-1 series tie with the Moose.  Holden is still looking to see his first playoff action in the AHL.
