Oscar Moller bagged his first career hat trick as the Chilliwack Bruins defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 6-2 Wednesday in Chilliwack.

The Bruins started fast as Moller opened the scoring just 43 seconds in, taking a Cody Hobbs stretch pass at full speed, splitting the defense and going top shelf on Seattle starting net minder Riku Helenius.  Moller added a second goal on the power play 10 minutes later, converting a perfect feed on the

back door from WHL leading scorer Mark Santorelli.  As that goal was

being announced, Mike Proudley

tipped in a point shot and the rout was on.

Jadon Potter and Brandon Campos added the other Bruins markers and several Bruins records fell during the game, including most shots in a game with 50 and fewest shots against in a game with only 15 surrendered.

Seattle had goals from Bud Holloway and Jeremy Boyer in a losing effort.  Goalie Riku Helenius let in three goals on 17 shots in the first 15 minutes of the game before being replaced by Jacob DeSerres, who let in three goals on 33 shots in relief.

Matt Esposito faced just 15 shots, picking up his league leading 8th win of the season.

The Bruins now hit the road for 5 games over the next two plus weeks.  Next up will be a date with US Division leaders, the Tri City Americans.

Game time in Kennewick, WA is 7pm and the game can be heard on 88.1 FM in Chilliwack, as well as www.chilliwackbruins.com and team1040.ca.
