Bruins earn point in Tri City

October 19, 2007

Oscar Moller scored three goals and added two assists in a 6-5 overtime loss Friday night in Kennewick Washington. It was the second consecutive three goal game for Moller. The Bruins (8-3-1-0) twice battled back from two goal deficits but it was the Tri City Americans (9-3-0-0) earning the victory on an overtime goal by Johnny Lazo.

The Americans took a 2-0 lead in the first on powerplay goals by Taylor Procyshen and Colton Yellow Horn before Brandon Campos notched his 7th of the season, also on the powerplay to make the score 2-1 after twenty minutes of play.

Yellow Horn scored his second of the game, the only goal of the middle frame at the 11:00 mark to give Tri City a 3-1 lead after two periods.

In the third, Oscar Moller struck twice in the first minute to tie the game at three. The Americans then regained their two goal lead on goals by Shaun Vey and Blair Macaulay. Nick Holden's goal with just over two minutes left in the third period brought the Bruins to within one before Oscar Moller with his third of the period with just 30 seconds left on the clock sent the game to extra time.

Bruins goaltender Mark Friesen in his first WHL start took the loss while Tri City goaltender Chet Pickard picked up his league leading eighth win of the season. The Bruins next game is in Portland on Sunday.
