Oscar Moller scored once and added an assist in a 10-1 win over Denmark Friday at the World Junior Championships in the Czech Republic. Team Sweden faces Team Canada Satruday, live on TSN at 10:30am Pacific Time

Chilliwack Bruins forward Oscar Moller scored once and set up another as Team Sweden hammered Team Denmark 10-1 in World Junior Hockey action.

Unlike yesterday’s rough start, the Danes started today’s game on a positive note when Morten Poulsen scored just 1:09 into the game giving Denmark their first lead at this year’s U20 World Championship. But the elation lasted for only six minutes when Sweden evened things up at the 7:19 mark on a goal by Chilliwack's Oscar Moller and then took the 2-1 lead two minutes later on a Tobias Forsberg goal. From that point, there was no looking back as the Swedes turned on the offensive power with four unanswered goals in the second period.

The onslaught was led by Mikael Backlund who netted two shorthanded goals in the period. It is only the fourth time ever, and the first time in 18 years, that a team has scored two shorthanded goals in one period at the U20 World Championship. Tony Lagerstrom and Robin Figren also scored in the period making it a 6-1 affair and prompting the Danes to replace goaltender Fredrik Andersen with Christian Moeller.

The change did little to stop the offensive strike of the Swedes, who poured in another four goals in the final period including a second tally from Lagerstrom and a goal by Patrik Berglund, set up by Moller.

Team Sweden is now tied with with Canada for first place in Group A. Both teams have 2-0 records. The tie will be broken tomorrow when the two teams face off live on TSN at 10:30am Pacific Time.
