CALGARY, AB - The 2007-08 WHL Pre-Season launches Wednesday, August 29, 2007 with the Prince Albert Raiders traveling into Moose Jaw to face the Warriors.  Both teams will field rosters largely comprised of rookies and young prospects looking to make an impression on the coaching staffs.

This year's WHL Pre-Season schedule features 63 games throughout Western Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest, with a good portion of the match ups scheduled in satellite locations (arenas).

Following suit with years past, there will be three WHL pre-season tournaments; two six team tournaments get underway this Labour Day long weekend in Everett, WA. and Edmonton, AB.  The Tri-City Americans will then host their annual four team tournament the following weekend, September 7-9.

The final weekend of exhibition play on September 14 & 15, will feature 14 games as teams put the final touches on their 2007-08 WHL rosters.

The 2007-08 WHL Regular Season begins with a special opening night match up on Thursday, September 20, 7:30 pm (MST), as the expansion Edmonton Oil Kings host the Kootenay Ice at Rexall Place.  The game will also be featured live, network wide, on Shaw TV.
