T'Birds 4  Bruins 1

David Richard scored once and added two assists and goaltender Jacob Deserres made 27 saves to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Chilliwack Bruins on Friday.

Thomas Hickey, Prab Rai and Jim O’Brien each tallied a goal and an assist for the Thunderbirds (31-19-5-2), while Benn Olson added two assists.

Ryan Howse scored the only goal for the Bruins (25-25-3-4), who see a modest two-game win streak halted. Matt Esposito made 27 saves in the defeat. The loss keeps the Bruins in seventh place in the Western Conference, one point ahead of the eighth place Kamloops Blazers.

Seattle was 2/10 on the power play, the Bruins went 0/5. Seattle outshot Chilliwack 31-28.

Chilliwack's next game is tonight when they host the Prince George Cougars.

Ice Chips: Mike Proudley played in his 100th WHL game tonight (all with Chilliwack)...Oscar Moller was held off the scoresheet ending his six game point streak...The Bruins were without the services of Cody Smuk (shoulder) and Matt Meropoulis (hand). Smuk may be back in the lineup tonight.
